A teacher's job is not to provide the answers, or to be critical. Rather, a teacher's job is to assist in finding the answers for oneself. True teachers do not set themselves up as God in your life; rather, a true teacher leads you to God. A true teacher will not claim to know more, demand obedience, instill fear, or control the intellectual environment. A true teacher will remain in the question of what is Truth and will inspire one to study, meditate, and contemplate in order to find the truth for oneself. A true teacher chops wood and carries water; he or she knows the Way, because he or she lives it. Besides having a general love of both two and three dimensional art, I have had a love of drawing stories with whimsical pictures since childhood. I have taken post grad studies in Visual Communication Design from Kent State University, a well as holding a B.S. in Education, K-8 and Early childhood, from the University of Akron. During My Post grad studies, I was introduced to Digital art while it was still in its infancy. A Macintosh now is among the favorite mediums that I use, in addition to Graphite, Pastel and Colored Pencils, depending on which medium best suits the current project. I am a Gnostic Tarot artist. I am the Illustrator for the Magdalene Legacy Tarot, written and originated by Casey DuHamel. This deck has had the honor of a full page inclusion in US Games 5th edition Tarot Encyclopedia. It’s “Magician” card has appeared on the cover of the American Tarot Association Quarterly. Currently scheduled to be published by Tarot Media Co. summer, 2011. I am a member of the Northern Ohio Illustrators Society (NOIS), a Professional Society that has helped support Ohio area illustrators of all genres. It is a wonderful group of open minded individuals and a joy to be a part of. I am also a children's illustrator, and a past board member of the Northern Ohio Region of the the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, (NOHSCBWI) I have found SCBWI, an international society of high standards, and very helpful in becoming active in Children's Illustration. I reside in Northern Ohio with my husband of 33 years.
